Just because we we’re itching to get The Vampire Diaries spoilers scoop from the show’s star Nina Dobrev at today’s CW Upfronts, doesn’t mean we overlooked her major hair change.
The actress debuted a new blond ombré hair color at the New York City event on Thursday, telling E! News’ Kristin Dos Santos the makeover was for an upcoming role in The Final Girls. This is a huge change for the 25-year-old, who up until now has always stayed loyal to her signature long brunette locks. And while everyone knows ombré is the gateway to going all the way Goldilocks, we probably won’t see the star become a blond bombshell. She dished that she will be dyeing it back as soon as she can. I have added captures from tonight’s Heartbreaking Season Finale and out of all of the Finales VD has ever had this one broke my heart the most. Even going through the captures makes me cry. If you haven’t watched yet be sure not to view these as they are spoilers of course.
For those who have what an episode, it was amazing but so heartbreaking at the same time. I can’t wait for Season 6 to premiere in October.
Nina Dobrev’s performance in tonight’s episode was on 100, this girl knows how to act her heart out, and she literally put so much into her scenes tonight that you can feel the emotion literally. Bravo Miss Dobrev, we absolutely applaud all your hard work.

AN EXPLOSIVE SEASON FINALE — Heartbroken by an unexpected tragedy, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is focused on holding himself together, while pushing Bonnie (Kat Graham) harder than ever to find a way to stop the disintegration of the Other Side. Elena (Nina Dobrev) takes matters into her own hands and demands that Liv (guest star Penelope Mithcell) and Luke (guest star Chris Broshu) help her, but Liv refuses to cooperate until Caroline (Candice Accola) provides her with some personal motivation. Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) is horrified when Markos (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) uses violence against Tyler/Julian (Michael Trevino) to prove that Mystic Falls is now under the control of the Travelers. With new information from Sheriff Forbes, Damon comes up with a dangerous plan that relies on split-second timing from Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Matt (Zach Roerig). Liv’s off-hand remark regarding Stefan (Paul Wesley) gets a surprisingly emotional response from Caroline. As conditions on the Other Side worsen, Bonnie takes the opportunity to settle an old score. Finally, Damon’s plan causes a massive explosion in Mystic Falls, and everyone is caught up in the confusion, leaving a trail of heroism, sacrifice, relief and despair. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Caroline Dries & Brian Young (#522).
From Day 1, The Vampire Diaries declared itself as a TV show that wasn’t afraid to kill off major characters, make bold storytelling decisions, and potentially upset fans in the process. In its first three seasons, the supernatural series was unwavering in its dedication to death — RIP Vicki Donovan (Kayla Ewell), Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning), and Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) — but subsequent seasons have seen the show backtrack by resurrecting countless characters from seemingly fatal situations.
And that’s something that isn’t sitting well with stars Paul Wesley and Nina Dobrev.
Wesley’s immortal character — vampire Stefan Salvatore — recently had his heart ripped out (one of the only ways for a vampire to truly die on the show), but when asked if he feared the reaper had finally come for Stefan, Wesley replied, “I’m kind of numb to these things, to be honest with you. I’ve had so many things happen to me that it’s a little comical. So, yeah, no big deal.” Continue Reading
