Just days away from the premiere of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 5, main cast members, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, continue promoting the brand new season of the hit CW TV series in their own way. The ex-couple recently bonded via social networking site Twitter as they countdown the days to the Oct 3 premiere.
Ian and Nina are keeping the “TVD” fans hooked with the upcoming Damon and Elena love story in their personal “Vampire Diaries” promo photos. On Monday, Sept 30, Ian wrote on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder that there are “4 days LEFT till #TVD” with an Instagram photo link that shows his hand extending four fingers. Read More
Is Julianne Hough a celebrity matchmaker? It would seem so, given that her brother, Derek Hough, happens to be romancing her BFF, Nina Dobrev. Despite previous dating denials, sources confirm to E! News that the Dancing With the Stars pro and The Vampire Diaries actress are indeed an item.
Though one insider says they didn’t begin seeing each other until August, another source says their relationship is already “somewhat serious.”

Previously on The Vampire Diaries: Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) officially got together, Bonnie (Kat Graham) officially died and came back as a ghost, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) officially left for New Orleans, aka his own spinoff The Originals, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) was officially beginning the worst summer ever after being locked in a box and put to sea by Silas…after we learned the younger Salvatore brother is his doppelgänger!
Phew, did you get all that? Good, because the CW hit returns for its fifth season in less than two weeks and we just watched the premiere, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” and can’t wait for you to see The Vampire Diaries: The College Years. While we’re always nervous when our favorite teen TV dramas attempt to make the transition from high school (see: The O.C., Gossip Girl, etc.) TVD doesn’t experience an awkward stage as the season-five opener effortlessly hops between the freshman fun at Whitmore College and the doppelgänger drama back in Mystic Falls.
