Because The Night

The Vampire Diaries’ Elena Gilbert has a new attitude and a new hairstyle to go along with it. In the upcoming episode “Because the Night,” Damon (Ian Somerhalder) takes Elena (Nina Dobrev) on an adventure to New York City in an effort to get her mind off of recent events (RIP, Jeremy!). Judging from our exclusive first look from the episode, it appears that Elena has gotten a new look on her trip by adding some red streaks and stylish new waves to her tresses.
But perhaps more important than the new ‘do is the big fat smile on her face. Has alone time with Damon positively affected the newly dark (and emotionless) vampire? Continue Reading at TV Guide

For a while now us fans have been trying so hard for The Primetime Emmy Awards to at least give The Vampire Diaries a fair chance, when going through the voting Process that they would really consider this show.

We did find out that Paul is in Lead Drama Actor, Nina is in Lead Drama Actress and Ian is in Supporting Drama Actor on the ballot thanks to @cadlymack on Twitter, but of course The Primetime Emmy Awards will most likely just pass on over them without even a look at what was submitted, if you ask me it is discriminating.

The reason I say that The Primetime Emmy Awards discriminate towards The Vampire Diaries is because it’s not just them it’s The CW they put their nose up too, they can deny this all they want, but it’s the truth, nowhere is it written that The CW shows can’t be nominated, but we went through this with The WB and UPN years ago there were a few Solid Good Emmy Worthy Shows like For Example Buffy The Vampire Slayer this show is now a LEGEND and was always passed up, it had a few nominations in like Visual Effects, Music etc, but I am talking about the Actors being nominated along with the show as a series.

Perhaps The Primtime Emmy Awards ignore because The CW isn’t a rich network, but if you ask me it’s the riches Network out there and not because of money, but because of the people on it, the talent on a few of the shows is just Phenomenal and it breaks my heart that each year it gets ignored. Though as Actor Ian Somerhalder says: “We will live and continue” from his tweet to Nina Network on June 9th, 2011 while discussing The Primetime Emmy Awards.

Another reason because it’s not a High Rated Network well here is the thing which I feel should end soon The Nielsen Ratings it’s ridiculous because when you really look at it you know damn well The Vampire Diaries is getting more then the 2 or 3 mil A week they get in these “ratings”, I mean seriously The Vampire Diaries Facebook has over 7 MILLION Fans and I bet you those 7 Million WATCH the show and then don’t forget all those without Internet and a Nielsen Box that are not being counted.

I hope that one day things change and this Discrimination ends but until then we can just continue to enjoy our shows, admire and adore our actors and actresses that bring us nothing but the best every time they are on our screens.

One thing is for sure though Emmy or No Emmy The Vampire Diaries will always be remembered, it has one hell of a Fan Following and I am so proud to be part of the Fandom. Who Needs An Emmy when you got all of us! It would be amazing, but life goes on.

I end this with two of my Favorite Scenes that Nina Dobrev did in Season 2 of The Vampire Diaries , do you have a favorite that you feel was Emmy Worthy? Feel Free to Comment Below!

Thanks to Vampire-Diaries.net for the heads up Zap 2 It has a New interview up with Nina so check it out it’s pretty great!

“Katherine-slash-I have been dirty and dusty for a very long time,” she laughs. “The weird thing is having to put dirt in your hair and tease your hair and make it look dirty after you’ve just washed it, for all those scenes.”

You’d think that as the star of a CW show, Dobrev would get the glam treatment every day at work, but that’s not the case as long as Katherine’s below ground. “Katherine’s getting progressively dirtier and dirtier,” Dobrev says. Continue Reading

VAMPIRE DIARIES star NINA DOBREV puts her acting skills to the test by adopting foreign accents when she travels – to fool locals into thinking she’s one of them.

The Bulgarian-born star, who grew up in Canada, admits she often tries to go unnoticed when she visits other countries.

She says, “The British accent is really cool. I went to London… We were doing a press tour and I’m shopping for shoes and I decided to play a character. I’m an actress – I like to be different people.”

But Dobrev admits it’s hard to fool natives, especially as she becomes more famous.

She adds: “I got busted! The girl was looking like me and she’s like, ‘You’re not from here, why are you speaking like that?'” [Source]

What’s a girl to do after she discovers she looks exactly like her vampire lover’s squeeze from 145 years ago? How about run off with her boyfriend’s dangerous, equally undead brother? When the CW hit returns, Elena (Nina Dobrev) travels with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to get info on how to release his true love, Katherine, from her tomb. Elena and Damon’s surprising new bond, the intensifying existential angst of her beau, Stefan (Paul Wesley), and several mysterious new characters spice up the supernatural romance as it hurtles toward Season 1’s explosive finale. “We’re leading up to the town’s Founder’s Day celebration, where all hell breaks loose,” says exec producer Kevin Williamson. TV GUIDE MAGAZINE sat down with Vampire Diaries’ hot trio in Atlanta, where the pals teased each other mercilessly and shared their experiences on the fangtastic series.

So which of you would make the best vampire in real life?
Somerhalder: Definitely me.
Dobrev: I agree.
Wesley: Ian does have hypnotic eyes. But Nina, I thought you were convinced I’m really a vampire?
Dobrev: Ian has this vampire quality, but Paul has fangs. [Wesley shows off his pointy canines.] And he just appears places and he’s very brooding.

Actors always love to play baddies. Are either of you a little jealous Ian gets to play the devilish Damon?
Dobrev: I’m lucky because I get to play two characters: sweet Elena and Katherine, who’s a crazy bitch.
Wesley: What’s cool about our characters is that they’re not one-dimensional. Damon has some good in him and Stefan has some evil in him. [Read The Rest at the Source ]

LOVE SUCKS

Up all night with the cast of Vampire Diaries.

Those well acquainted with Serena and Little J may find this fact hard to believe: Vampire Diaries, The CW’s budding show about bloodsuckers and the teen girls who love and / or get eaten by them, has double the number of Gossip Girl viewers.

What makes it such a hit? It could be the current cultural zeitgeist of Edward, Bella, Sookie, Bill, and immortal drama. It could be the lingering teen appeal of star Nina Dobrev (remember her from Degrassi?). Or maybe it’s just damn fun and funny.

Luke Crisell – who calls the show “like Dawson’s Creek with less talk and more action” – sat down with the cast of and asked them himself.

On the similarities between Twilight, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries: “When the show first started… you automatically thought Twilight. But once you continue, there’s a whole other side of it that goes a lot deeper… It’s about letting everyone know that we’re different but we all respect each other.” –Nina Dobrev

On the sudden success of the show: ““Do I thing the show would be successful as it is, if it weren’t for all that? No.” –Paul Wesley

Hey Ian, is there any similarity between LOST and Vampire Diaries? “[My character] is gonna be the coolest character on television. There was no doubt about it. It reminded me of Sawyer, Josh Holloway’s character on LOST. He was always the character I secretly wished I could play.”
