It has been confirmed via the official website for the local Toronto chapter of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees union that Flatliners will be receiving post-production reshoots. It is unknown if the entire cast will be participating in the post-production reshoots and it will hopefully not affect Nina’s filming schedule for Departures.

The filming will be taking place from July 24th until August 1st 2017 in Toronto, Canada with the release date set for September 29th 2017; which has to pose the question if the release date will be delayed again when factoring in the editing process and distributing Flatliners to cinemas on a global scale. The film was previously delayed from August 18th to September 29th 2017 which means it is currently set to release in the same week as American Made starring Tom Cruise. Given the psychological horror tone of Flatliners; I would personally suggest that a Halloween opening would be much more appropriate.
The lack of an official website and first trailer does seem to be cutting it a bit close to generate promotion prior to the current release date which is rather odd given that it will be released by Sony Pictures who normally promote films significantly in advance.
After 170 episodes having aired in the UK; the 171st and final-ever episode of The Vampire Diaries is set to air on ITV2 in the UK late on Tuesday night, May 9th 2017 at 11.55pm. The finale episode titled I Was Feeling Epic includes the much anticipated return of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce.
Unfortunately, there is no confirmation from ITV2 regarding any airing of the hour long retrospective special titled Forever Yours which aired in America on The CW prior to the finale. However, I have reached out to ITV’s viewer services for comment; therefore I will certainly update everyone if I receive a response. Either way, I am sure the Forever Yours look-back will be featured in the Blu-Ray and DVD box set releases.
I want to thank the entire cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries for 171 episodes of one of the greatest sci-fi television series in modern times; consequently I wish the very best to everyone on their new ventures whether they be spin-offs from The Vampire Diaries or something completely different.
Unfortunately, Nina’s guest starring role as Katherine Pierce in Season 4: Episode 13 of The Originals has been removed from Nina’s IMDB profile. Upon first glance; this may mean it was just a wild rumour and will not be happening. However, on second glance we have technically all been here before regarding Nina’s appearance in The Vampire Diaries finale. If you recall, IMDB actually listed Nina’s appearance in the final-ever episode of The Vampire Diaries while almost everyone elsewhere was reporting that Nina would not be returning in addition to the fact that the listing specifically referred to Season 8: Episode 16 before it had even become public knowledge that the final season would be 16 episodes.
There are reports that Season 4 could be the final season of The Originals due to its reduced length from 22 episodes to only 13 episodes. If Season 4 is to be the final season, then it would make sense to have Katherine Pierce or another doppelganger feature in some way to show how the Petrova bloodline would continue to evolve or for Katherine to finally get her revenge on Klaus. The involvement of a Petrova doppelganger could perhaps even lead to an important element of a spin-off series containing characters from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
If Nina is officially confirmed for a guest starring role as Katherine Pierce or even another doppelganger in The Originals: Season 4 – Episode 13, then we should expect to hear an official announcement within the next few weeks as The Originals: Season 4 began airing on The CW on March 17th 2017.

Nina Dobrev has just made a return to Funny or Die with Overheard LA which revolves around a man telling his friend what random comments he has just overheard in LA. Nina’s character sits at a table in a restaurant and proceeds to ask her friend in a serious tone, “Why would they schedule Easter during Coachella?” and other such pearls of wisdom including “Every new friend I make is just another person who might ask me to take them to the airport in the future and I do not need that. That’s why God invented Uber” which is so nasty yet quick witted that it actually sounds as though it originated from Katherine Pierce.
The video’s duration is a little under two minutes and can be found at http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/9bc05c796c/overheard-la-with-nina-dobrev
There is potential for Nina’s appearance in Overheard LA to be quite popular as Nina has previously starred in the Funny or Die original SPF music video that has achieved Hall of Fame certification as one of Funny or Die’s best exclusive videos having been viewed 2.1 million times since debuting on July 2nd 2012 and can be watched at http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/3d673108bf/spf-with-nina-dobrev
According to IMDB; Nina is rumoured to be guest starring in season 4: episode 13 of The Originals as one of Nina’s most likeable characters, Katherine Pierce, although IMDB is so confident it will happen that Nina’s appearance is not listed as a rumour. It is not confirmed if Nina will be recurring through multiple episodes of The Originals as Katherine Pierce, so it can only be assumed at this time that Katherine will play into the storyline in some capacity, although it would be nice to see Nina remaining in The Originals for a run of episodes.
Some may question the legitimacy of the source given that there is no clear indication of who informed IMDB of this being 100% confirmed. However, it is important to notice that IMDB listed Nina as specifically appearing in season 8 episode 16 of The Vampire Diaries before we received 100% confirmation from elsewhere of Nina’s appearance and the additional fact of season 8 only being a 16 episode season.
I have never personally looked after a pet as I cannot imagine how such a bond over so many years and great times would ever feel when it came to an end or how I would ever be able to move on beyond that. For that very reason; I join all of Nina’s millions of supporters in wishing Nina well and I hope you can continue to look upon the memorable moments you spent together with such fondness that you so graciously shared with all of us through social media. Let’s celebrate the life of Lynx; a wonderful part of Nina’s life.
Rest in peace Lynx (1999-2017)
Nina posted her emotional personal tribute to her closest friend Lynx on Instagram,
“To my sweet sweet angel,
As I look back on the last 18 years together, I smile through my tears. You brought me so much joy, love, unlimited cuddles and so many sandpaper kisses. I still remember the first day I brought you home, the size of a tea cup purring as I held you in my hands. You were so fragile and furry, as soft as the worlds tiniest cashmere blanket. I knew in that moment you were my soulmate. From there our long journey began and we were inseparable. We grew up together in Toronto, then you followed me to Atlanta, and from there we road tripped across the United States through New Orleans, Austin City, Amarillo Texas, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, we even saw the Grand Canyon for our first time together. Our last chapter and final destination was here in Los Angeles. I hope I was able to give you a beautiful happy life filled with love, because that’s what you gave me. Saying goodbye to you on Saturday was the most difficult thing I have had to do in my life. It was bittersweet, but I’m so happy I got to hold you in my arms one last time. My heart hurts, I miss you more than I words can explain but I can still feel your presence, energy and light. I know you’re still with me and will always be a part of me, no matter where I go.
In sickness and in health until death do us part.
My longest relationship, my rock, my best friend.
I love you. ❤😿💔 #RIP
