Elena goes through a couple of emotional roller coasters and changes in Our Town and the same could go for the town of Mystic Falls.
We start out the episode with Elena and Damon having completely different reactions to their kiss last time. Damon is in a very good mood, he’s smiling in his shower, he even has a little pep in his step. However Elena is…she’s feeling something alright. She is punching and kicking a punching bag with all her might and she’s a bit jittery.
Well, this episode was a handful, and it was a Founder’s day event. In this episode we see a lot of people we thought we would never see again, a miracle almost occurred, one of our favorite characters does something shocking, and something that has been here since the beginning gets destroyed, or does it? It doesn’t sound like much, but it was.
From episode to episode, Elena’s determination and will to get anything accomplished, is (one of the things) I envy. There is just literally NOTHING that could ever make her lose hope or lose faith, she just always has something up her sleeve to keep her going, and I admire that. Her parents are dead, and her aunt is and birth parents are now on that list, her boyfriend has been compelled to not feel anything including love, and her brother is talking to ghosts. And through all that, she still doesn’t lose hope. She still keeps her head up. Amazing.
We see a lot of people we love come back, and people we hate come back. One of the people that came back is Sheila (A.K.A grams) and she is here to help Bonnie “restore the balance of nature”, looks like when the witches said “there were going to be consequences”, they weren’t kidding. Bonnie and Sheila used the talisman (Elena’s necklace) to make all the ghosts return to where they came from. Who else returns? we saw him in the last episode, Mason. You would think that Mason would be here to torture Damon a bit, give him a little taste of payback but…no. As mason said, he was here not for revenge but for redemption. Mason was here to save Tyler, he wanted to protect Tyler and he was teaming up with Damon because protecting Tyler had something to do with how to kill Klaus. Fredrick and his revenge vampire gang also return, and they kill a person from the Fell family in their first day back into the real world, and they also attempt to kill Carol Lockwood, but it was an attempt that failed.
In this episode we see how desperate and how determined Elena really is about getting Stefan back. Elena wanted to get Lexi to help her whip Stefan back into shape, how? well, by using her seeing-vampires-that-are-already-dead little brother to help her. Lexi comes back and she is DETERMINED into getting Stefan’s humanity back. After we, the audience, and Elena saw each and every step that Lexi took to “fix” Stefan, we were all blown away. We see Stefan becoming bipolar and we see him going insane, and Elena was so disturbed she couldn’t even see anymore. Once Lexi left, Elena took her place and told Stefan that she still has hope and that he should regain HIS. She also told him that if he doesn’t change, he is going to lose her forever. 1 word. Dramatic.
Couples scene:
Stefan and Elena: Stefan still doesn’t feel anything (yet) but he was fairly close to. After Elena telling him he would lose her forever if he doesn’t change, you could see the old Stefan back, just for that split second, and you could see that he was helpless, If only Elena stayed a little longer…
Damon and Elena: As much as I would love to talk about how Damon kissed Elena, or how Elena told Damon how she really felt about him, none of that happened. They both mentioned each others names for Elena’s necklace, but they were not together in this episode.
Bonnie and Jeremy: Looks like Anna messed up this relationship. Jeremy kissed Anna, full on, Elena saw them, and Bonnie found out. After destroying the necklace, Bonnie does not want to even hear Jeremy’s explanation, or apology, she tells him to get out while tears were dripping down her face. Jeremy? why? I’m pretty sure nobody saw this coming, except maybe Bonnie herself, since she was worried about Anna just being there. But after the way Bonnie kicked Jeremy out, ad seeing how hurt she looked, I don’t expect this couple to be going anywhere anytime soon.

In this episode: Katherine returns, we see the ghosts more involved, we learn a huge secret, love conquers all,… Let’s just say that on senior prank night, everything but pranking was going down in Mystic Falls high.
We start out in an empty and dark school, with a suspensful music in the background (as always). Matt! Look, who finally decides to actually show up! The whole gang is here, at least the ones that still go to school are here. Caroline, Bonnie, Elena, Matt, and Tyler are with the whole senior class setting up pranks for the rest of the school. Wow, this is weird. The only time we see them all together is when someone dies, but even Elena is actually participating in this whole “pranking” thing. She smiled!
Right before we even got into 10 minutes into the show, Klaus already caught Elena. And I know everyone’s hearts ran faster than usual when Klaus got a hold of Elena’s arm. He takes Elena to the gym where he tells everyone to get out with an American accent. And a while later, who shows up? The one and only Stefan. He tried to save Elena by telling Klaus that he will obey. Klaus being Klaus, does not listen, and takes the hard way. Klaus puts a timer to 20 minutes and he tells Stefan to feed on Elena when the timer is done, and what happens? He doesn’t. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, for the first time In Vampire Diaries history, a vampire controls the compulsion that is given by an original. Stefan is told to feed on Elena when the timer stopped, but when it did, Stefan used his love for Elena as help for himself, and he used the love as an obstacle for the compulsion to take over his body. Love really does conquer all.
Katherine returns, and this time she is teaming up with Damon? After Elena and Damon’s little fight last time, he fled Mystic Falls and he’s with Katherine. They are on a mission to kill Klaus, “…but not dagger dead. Dead, dead.” Yes, Katherine just said that there was a way to REALLY kill Klaus, and how? By getting the secret that only Pearl and her daughter knew, but wait, Pearl is dead. Yes she is, but who still has contact with her daughter Anna? Jeremy. Jeremy got some information from Anna to feed to Damon and Katherine. And we find out that our key to killing Klaus is a vampire hunter named Michael, which was the guy that Klaus and Rebecca were running from in the 1900’s. Anna warns them not to wake him, how can a vampire hunter be awakened? We will only know in the next episode, but all we know is that by the end of this episode, Katherine and Jeremy wake Michael, the vampire hunter, up.
Hello Vicki and Anna. Looks like these two ghosts are just up and about screwing with peoples heads. Anna helped Damon and Katherine get some information but what did Vicki do? She just gave a message to Bonnie. Why are they really here though?
And what was the big secret that we learned? Looks like, If Elena actually died in the sacrifice ritual, Klaus wouldn’t be able to make any Hybrids because you would need the doppelgangers blood to complete the transition. Tyler went through all the steps: Drank blood from Klaus, died, drank Elena’s blood and then transitioned into a hybrid. And from the way Tyler told Caroline that “It’s going to be an amazing year” It looks like changes will be coming following Tyler’s new Hybridity.
Couples Scene:
Elena and Stefan: It looks like these two aren’t smooching up anytime soon. Klaus compelled Stefan to get rid of his humanity and he did. Stefan is now, without a doubt, a ripper with the no guilt personality to back it up. At the end of this episode we all see Stefan come back and reveal that he will be staying in Mystic Falls for a while to look over Elena as an order from Klaus. We all could see Elena’s face just about to fall off when she saw Stefan, but I’m interested on how the dynamic will now be between Stefan and Elena, now that Stefan is humanity-free.
Damon and Elena: Damon and Elena did not share much moments in this episode, due to the fact that he was too busy with her twin. Damon and Elena did share one special moment though. Damon was taking care of Elena after her traumatic day with Stefan and Klaus, and after the hospital drained her of blood. She starts crying and she asks Damon what she is supposed to do now that Stefan is “really gone”, and right after Damon puts his hand on Elena and tells her he won’t leave her again, guess who pops in? Stefan. He is popping up everywhere. He explains to them that he will be staying for a while and then he tell them to carry on with whatever they were doing. What is one of my favorite things about humanity-free Stefan? His humor, its almost at Damon’s humor level.
Tyler and Caroline: This couple were smooching all over the place. Even some Matt+Caroline fans could see that Tyler and Caroline genuinely have strong feelings for each other. The stuck together when Klaus separated them, they even stuck together when Tyler was on the verge of dying. Tyler and Caroline are going to have an “amazing” school year.

In this episode, flappers and the sound of jazz are present, Stefan is reunited with a past love, we learn unexpected things when someone re-gains their memory, someone gets rescued, the vervain necklace has more meaning than we thought, someone unexpected is still around, and someone ends up heartbroken. And did I mention it was our first FLASHBACK EPISODE of season 3!?
We start out the episode seeing an old pal we haven’t seen in a while, Katherine. Her and Damon are in a conversation about the whereabouts of Stefan, which Katherine claimed she was far away from. Later on in the episode, we see her appear in a
flashback to the 1920’s and we find out that she has been following Stefan and Klaus’ tracks to keep an eye on Stefan. Is it me, or is anyone else starting to somehow believe that Katherine wasn’t lying about loving Stefan?
We visit a time period in history which I personally LOVE, called the 1920’s. We hear people dancing to jazz music, flappers flirting with everyone and dancing, and we also see cigarette-smoking charming men. One of those charming men is Stefan, and he enters this enjoyable place with one great sexy smirk that starts out our episode.
At this enjoyable place, he meets a girl named Rebecca, but little do we know that she’s more than just an ordinary girl, she’s a vampire.
She charms Stefan and catches his attention fast. But then they drop another huge bomb on us, not only is she a vampire, but she’s an original that’s the sister of Klaus. Rebecca falls in love with Stefan and they both have an instant
connection, until an incident occurs at the bar and Stefan is forced to forget everything that happened including his love for Rebecca, they never saw each other again until the end of the episode and that is when old sparks started to fly again.
When Stefan got his memory erased, by who? Klaus, he forgot every single thing that happened while he was in Chicago. He
forgot about the feeding before partying, he forgot the girls and the drinking, everything. Through all the flashbacks, what Stefan tried to piece together, and Klaus compelling him to remember, Stefan remembered. What do we learn? That Stefan and Klaus were really close, almost like brothers at some point. Surprising?
No worries though, I did not forget about our blonde vampire next door. As we remember from the last episode, Caroline was captured by her dad and put into this vampire-torturing place. In this episode, Caroline is tortured by her dad by not because her dad wants to hurt her, but because her dad wants to fix her. He believes in some remedy that make Caroline not a monster, the thing that daddy should have figured out is that even as a vampire, Caroline wouldn’t even want to hurt a fly. Blondie’s boyfriend comes to the rescue! He gets help from Caroline’s mom to save Caroline, and he rescues her. Wow, how sweet, the werewolf boyfriend saves the day.
Does anyone remember the vervain necklace? The one Stefan gave to Elena as a present to keep her safe, back in season one? Well, its more than just any vervain necklace, we learn that it is the key to contact an original witch AND it once belonged to
Rebecca. Yes, Rebecca. The necklace that Stefan’s old love Rebecca owned is the same necklace that Stefan put around Elena’s neck in Season 1. What? Stefan how could you? Give the necklace that once belonged to your vampire girlfriend to your human girlfriend? Now, that we know that it is a key into contacting the original witch, we know Stefan is probably going to reunite with Elena again 🙂 Why do we need the original witch? Because Klaus’ plan to make more hybrids is not working and he wants to know why. But you and I know the secret, its because the doppelganger, Elena, is not actually dead, and everyone knows that but Klaus.
Stefan and Elena see each other and talk to each other for the FIRST time and I know everyone is happy about that. They see each other for the first time up close when Stefan and Klaus visit Stefan’s old apartment, and when entering the hidden closet where Stefan ritually writes all his victims names, They see each other and smile. Stefan’s first encounte
r with Elena didn’t make him too happy because he later lashed out at Damon for first bringing Elena here at all because of the danger of Klaus finding her when he thinks she’s dead. They actually talk towards the end of the episode when Elena tells Stefan to “Come home.” and hugs him thinking that it will get him distracted enough for her to inject vervain into him, but she was wrong. When he backs up, he tells her that he doesn’t want to come home, that it will never be the same, and that he doesn’t want her and she should forget about her. A little harsh Stefan, Don’t you think? Elena wears a frown and a broken heart the whole ride home. I think Elena should have been smart enough to know he didn’t mean it, but after what he said to her, it looks like she took it pretty hard. Do you think she will finally give up on Stefan or will she keep fighting for him?

In this episode, It’s Elena’s birthday! We find out what the whole gang has been up to, a character dies, two characters do something everyone has been waiting for, a heartbreaking hold on or goodbye moment , and someone is EXPOSED.
We start out this episode in Tennessee? Klaus today, is on his mission to find a werewolf pack to turn into a hybrid pack and he goes to these girls’ house to torture them after they didn’t tell them what he wanted to know, but once he got his answer Klaus wasn’t the one to torture them, guess who? Stefan. Yes, I DID say that these past 2 months we haven’t been around Stefan has become a full on ripper with NO feelings, well maybe not.
